Flights
 to Cancun

When are
you flying?

You'll pay the highest prices for airfare during Christmas, and Spring Break; the cheapest times to fly are late spring and summer, although you may find less flight options during summer months.

Making connections

This is one of the main things we look for in a flight. First, we want to arrive in Cancun as early in the day as possible (especially if you are paying for an all-inclusive. You'll pay the same rate whether you arrive at noon and take advantage of meals and drinks; or arrive at 11pm, jut in time for a snack and sleep).
I (Perry) prefer a non-stop flight and am willing to drive a distance for it. Driving to a city with a non-stop flight can save money, but you'll have to consider parking, gas, and perhaps even a hotel room (since most flights leave early in the morning. I always stay in a hotel near the airport that offers parking during your trip and a shuttle to the airport).
The map at right shows cities that offer non-stop flights. The colored circles indicate approximate distances from that
airport.

Travel agents
and online shopping

Using a travel agent has adantages, they do this evey day and know how to search for the best fares. You can also search fares quickly at www.kayak.com. Kayak is a search engine created by Orbitz, Expedia, and Travelocity; you enter your dates and it will search all airlines for the best price.

Taxes and add-ons

Before making that big purchase, make sure that the fnal price includes all airport taxes and customs fees. Also check for any fuel surcharges of baggage fees (your travel agent will be up-to-date on these charges).
