Transportation

Taxis are available in front of every resort.
The bus station in Playa del Carmen provides
transportation to other parts of the Yucatan for
those who want to save a little money.

Nightlife

Most resorts offer evening entertainment, but most
guests in Playacar also visit Playa del Carmen.

Shopping

There is a small plaza in Playacar within walking distance
of most resorts. Most guests also visit Playa del Carmen
for shopping. Walmart and Sam's Club are near the main
highway entrance to Playacar.

Hotels

Playacar offers mostly large all-inclusive resorts.
The area between the Playa del Carmen ferry dock
and the resorts is lined with private homes, many for rent.

Restaurants

Since most resorts are all-inclusive there are no
public restaurants (just the golf course clubhouse
and a few snack shops).

Tours & activities

Your resort will offer a wide assortment of day-trips
and snorkeling tours.

Atmosphere

Large elegant resorts make up most of Playacar.
The entire area is built around a golf course with lots
of trees surrounding the private homes. This is a favorite
place for joggers because it is so peaceful.

Who visits

A mix of guests from all over the world, and all ages.
During the winter high-season most guests are from
U.S.A. and Canada.
