Beaches
The giant Palace resort at the north end is on a rockshore with a man-made beach behind a rock seawall.
They have a beautiful resort and pool; but we prefer
a natural beach. The next group of large hotels sit
on a beautiful, sandy cove.
In front of the area marked "marina 1" (on the map at right) is an area of rental properties.
Transportation
You can walk most places in town. Taxis are availablein the parking area next to the marina. Colectivo vans will
stop along the highway enroute to Playa del Carmen
or Tulum.

Nightlife
Typically you can find some live music at one of themarina restaurants, especially on weekends.

Small grocery store in teh marina area.Hotels
Basically Puerto Aventuras offeres either all-inclusive resorts or private rental homes. There is not much in between.There are two hotels available where the all-inclusive package is optional.

There are nearly a dozen restaurants surrounding themarina area, and the setting couldn't be any more
relaxing and peaceful.

Tours & activities
Sailing and snorkeling tours depart from the marina daily.This is also a popular scuba area. There is a golf course
and tours to nearby Xel-Ha eco-park and the Tulum
Mayan ruins.
Atmosphere
The plaza overlooking the marina is absolutelybeautiful–especially at night when small (Christmas-tree)
lights in the trees light up the plaza. There are only two
hotels near the plaza. The rest of the accommodations
are all-inclusive resorts to the north (shown as resorts
on the map), private homes, and condominium units.
Who visits
The residents are mostly Americans and Canadians.Several of the all-inclusive resorts are sold only in
Germany or Italy.
